RAADS-R

An 80-question screening scale for autism in adulthood.

What is it?

The RAADS-R (Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale – Revised) is an 80-item self-report questionnaire designed to help identify autism spectrum disorder in adults, including when traits have been masked for years.

It explores four areas: social relationships, language, sensory/motor function, and restricted interests.

Why it is used

It has been validated as a guidance tool: a high score increases the likelihood that an autism assessment would be relevant. Its clinical threshold sits at around 65 points (out of 240), and the average for diagnosed groups is markedly higher.

The ASD questionnaire offered here draws on the logic of the RAADS-R without reproducing its items, which are protected.

Its limits

Like any self-report questionnaire, the RAADS-R depends on how one perceives oneself. It does not always distinguish autism from other profiles (social anxiety, ADHD). Only a professional assessment can confirm a diagnosis.
